    [1]  2019/11/10 18:50   Male / 40 years old level / A retired person / Very /
    Purpose of use
Curious to know how many calories I burn during a casual bicycle ride.
Just discovered that a 60 yo would burn 12.5% less calories than a 15 yo for the same output energy.
    [2]  2019/11/08 01:04   Female / 30 years old level / An office worker / A public employee / Useful /
    Purpose of use
Trying to figure out if my fitbit is overestimating my calories burned on my daily bike commute. Fitbit measures 143 calories burned for a 20 minute ride at 10mph, this calculator estimates 126 calories burned. Wondering if the difference has to do with the extra effort of pedaling uphill.

    Fitness and weight loss.
I know there are a lot of variables in determining kcal. My riding is on flat roads with varying wind speed and direction. I go a distance turn around and come back the same route. With time and distance and average speed, is there a more accurate formula to determine kcal and Mets/h?
    [6]  2019/10/02 01:25   Male / 50 years old level / An engineer / Very /
    Purpose of use
why is there an age parameter?
Doesn't it take the same energy to propel a a given mass at a given speed for a given period, regardless of how old the mass is?
    from Keisan
Because muscle mass and BMR decrease with age.
    Bicycling Calorie = BMR x Mets/24 x hour.
    [7]  2019/09/29 03:15   Female / 20 years old level / Others / A little /
    Purpose of use
Determining how many calories burned during cycling sessions for weight loss
It would bel to be able to manually add in how many miles i go, my bike tells me i have gone 40 miles in 90 minutes, but this calculator only tells me i have gone 31.5 or so varying on time, as in the max speed is only 21 mph. But it is not accurate if i am actually going further at a higher speed. Being able to have that extra factor into this calculator would make the estimated calorie burn more accurate.
    [8]  2019/09/25 23:16   Male / 60 years old level or over / A retired person / Useful /
    Purpose of use
to see if it was close to the heart monitored Wahoo calculation over a 15 hour ride time ( 18 hour) total time). It was when using meth 10 and not meth 8 on 12-13mph average. only 300 calories difference, so impressed.
    [9]  2019/09/23 12:15   Male / 50 years old level / An office worker / A public employee / Very /
    Purpose of use
estimation of energy burned over time
straight metrics would be great addition
    [10]  2019/09/13 19:20   Male / 30 years old level / An engineer / Very /
    Purpose of use
Elevation gain computed would be a nice to have
