If you are having trouble trying to get a sqrt and pi form of the value instead of the decimal, what you can do is square the number. If you do 1.7320508075^2 (or how many digits that you had), you get the answer (sqrt 3). This only works if you don't have pi in the final answer.

I appreciate this! It would be great to be able to enter and get exact numbers, like sqrt2 instead of 1.41421
